AFFIL Allies are locally based organizations who care about consumers. AFFIL Allies come in many forms — they are legal services organizations, private lawyers, housing counselors, credit counselors, military agencies, faith-based organizations, grassroots advocacy organizations, and others. The Consumer Action Hotline
For free, non-legal advice, call the Consumer Hotline at (415) 777-9635 or (213) 624-8327 and leave a voice mail message. Consumer Action's multilingual hotline counselors will return your call as soon as possible. We speak Chinese, English, and Spanish. The National Association of Consumer Advocates (NACA), an AFFIL Partner, is a nationwide organization of more than 1000 attorneys who represent and have represented hundreds of thousands of consumers victimized by fraudulent, abusive and predatory business practices. Find a Housing Counselor
The Department of Housing and Urban Development sponsors housing counseling agencies throughout the country that can provide advice on buying a home, renting, defaults, foreclosures, credit issues, and reverse mortgages.
