Finding Your State Banking Office

State-charted banks and other lenders are supervised by agencies in your state. The Center for Responsible Lending, an AFFIL Partner, has a webpage which provides links to these agencies, along with other resources in each state.

The name of the Supervising Agency who you’ll send your complaint to varies state by state. When you go to the CRL Page below, click on your state. Then, look under “Key Contacts” for an agency named something like: Department of Banking, Office of the State Bank Commissioner, State Banking Department, Division of Banks, Division of Financial Regulation. You’ll then be directed to the right place to complain.
