AFFIL Board Member Kathleen Engel appointed to Federal Reserve Board’s Consumer Advisory Council

AFFIL congratulates Kathleen Engel on her appointment to the prestigious Consumer Advisory Council. Ms. Engel is the Leon M. and Gloria Plevin Associate Professor at the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University. According to the Fed’s press release, “her expertise encompasses a wide range of consumer law issues. She is a national authority on mortgage finance and regulation, subprime and predatory lending, community reinvestment issues, and housing discrimination.” AFFIL also congratulates Michael Calhoun, president of our Partner the Center for Responsible Lending, on his appointment, as well as consumer advocates Shanna Smith, president and CEO of the National Fair Housing Alliance (NFHA), and Ron Phillips, president and founder of Coastal Enterprises, Inc. (CEI).
